38-0 Soccer: Formation, Player Version and Draft Flow

An XI needs the right jobs filled, and the version of a player matters. Set formation, Season or Prime and draft order before judging the thirty-eight-match finish.

Set the XI before chasing famous names

38-0 is the soccer alternative to the 82-0 game: eleven players, a chosen formation and a thirty-eight-match finish. The setup determines which jobs you must fill, which ratings you see and whether you start a turn with a squad or a position.

Season and Prime can describe different versions

Season
Uses the rating supplied for the selected club and season when that entry is available.
Prime
Uses the player's peak overall rating, which may have been earned elsewhere.

A club-and-season draw identifies the available player entry. Prime can still rate that player by a peak reached with another club. If you want the selected season's version to drive the comparison, choose Season and check the displayed entry; unavailable season data can fall back to the player's overall rating.

Hard hides player ratings. Easy and Normal allow a visibility choice. Set the information rule alongside the basis so you know whether you are inspecting values or relying on recall when the offer arrives.

Formation creates the remaining jobs

This diagram counts the eleven jobs in a 4-4-2. DEF, MID and ATT are broad teaching labels; the game's actual shirt labels and compatible position buttons determine where a card can go. Choosing another formation changes the openings you need to solve.

Before a pick, scan the unfinished parts of the pitch. Spending a versatile player on one opening can leave a more specialized job for the next squad. A candidate's useful destination matters as much as recognizing the name.

Follow the draft order you selected

Squad-first

  1. Spin for a club and season.
  2. Inspect the supplied candidates.
  3. Select a player and an offered compatible position.

The squad arrives before you decide which of its usable jobs to fill. Compare that choice with the other openings in your formation.

Position-first

  1. Choose an open formation slot.
  2. Spin for that position question.
  3. Select from the candidates supplied for it.

The opening comes first, giving the offer a narrower purpose. Judge which available entry best serves the job you selected.

The middle row has no losses, yet earns 37 × 3 + 1 = 112 points. Perfection requires the first row: 38 × 3 = 114. Read all three result counts, especially when an unbeaten finish looks close enough at a glance.

Keep the setup with the returned season

The simulation includes a random component in generating a season. A new run can return different outcomes; reopening the same stored result is not another random trial. Preserve formation, rating basis, visibility, the eleven entries and the final record when you compare attempts.
